Waitrose Good Food Guide, Local Restaurant of the Year

9th March 2016

The Good Food Guide is the UK's bestselling restaurant guide. Reviewing and writing about restaurants, pubs and cafes, bringing together the best places to eat out from throughout the country since 1951. This year Restaurant of the Year Awards has become Local Restaurant of the Year, to reflect their search to uncover neighborhood gems and we would really appreciate your help in putting The Leconfield on the map.

Since its launch in 2011, The Leconfield Restaurant has become a local favourite in the picturesque town of Petworth. The restaurant offers guests a diverse culinary experience, based on local and seasonal ingredients whenever possible. Following the ethos of head chef Paul Welburn and his team, we serve the best of Sussex foods using the freshest fish and seafood from local boats, as well as high quality meats reared in the beautiful surrounding countryside.

We work closely with local suppliers as well as our sister establishment, The Hungry Guest who supply us with fresh local meats from their butchery and hand picked cheeses from their cheese room. Evidently, every effort is made to source seasonal, local produce of the highest quality. Our determination and passion for sourcing high quality ingredients has been recognised by The Times as they named the restaurant one of the 30 Best Places for Sunday Lunch, Winner for Outstanding Customer Service in 2014 at the Sussex Life Awards and most recently being awarded our 2nd AA Rosette.

Plus everyone who votes has a chance of winning a case of Moet & Chandon Imperial Brut NV from Waitrosecellar.com. To vote, click on the icon below, thank you in advance.
